Wellness Care
Level 1 of 3 · $30 an hour
For the parent who is still doing well, and you'd like to keep it that way. A regular caregiver brings company, good meals, a tidy and safe home, and reasons to get out of the house. Those small things are what protect independence.

Why it matters
It rarely ends with one big event. Meals get skipped, the stairs feel harder, friends stop calling, a fall happens when nobody is around. Each of those is something a caregiver can help with, well before more care is needed.

How Wellness Care helps
Every visit is built around what keeps your loved one strong, sharp and connected, not just a list of chores.
Conversation, games, stories, hobbies
Real company, not a check-in from the doorway. Talking, laughing and doing things together is one of the best things for memory and mood.
Walks, gentle movement, getting out
Staying active keeps muscles and balance strong. We make moving part of the visit, at whatever pace feels right.
Meal planning, cooking, grocery runs
When cooking for one gets tiring, meals get skipped. We cook their favorites together and leave food ready for later.
Light housekeeping, laundry, clear paths
Clutter and piled-up laundry are trip hazards. A tidy home is a home with fewer falls.
Medication reminders, routines, appointments
A friendly reminder to take medicine, keep the doctor's appointment, and stick to the routine that keeps them well.
The same familiar caregiver
A caregiver who knows them notices small changes early, like less appetite or a new unsteadiness, so you can act before it becomes a crisis.
The little things
Wellness Care also covers the small jobs that get harder to keep up with, and the ones that make a week feel like their own.
Help with the phone, the TV remote or a tablet, and setting up video calls so they can see the grandkids.
Feeding and walking the dog, cleaning the litter box, watering plants and tidying the porch or patio.
Sorting the mail, reading letters aloud, reminders for bills and help with simple forms. We don't handle money or banking.
Photo albums, memory books, crafts, cards and letters to family, and decorating for the holidays.
Good Days Out
When driving stops, weeks can shrink to the living room. With Wellness Care, a visit can be lunch and cards at a senior center, a book club at the library, or a slow walk through a garden. We drive, we stay right beside them, and we bring them home.
An example only. You approve every place, and we plan around how they get around.
A real visit
Every plan is different. Here's one example of a Wellness Care visit for a mom who lives alone.
Who it's for
✓ Living alone and spending a lot of the day by themselves
✓ No longer driving, or not comfortable driving far
✓ Skipping meals, or cooking less than they used to
✓ Getting behind on housework or laundry
✓ Home from the hospital and getting their strength back
✓ Fine on their own, but you live far away and worry
Wellness Care does not include hands-on help like bathing or dressing. If that's needed, Personal Care is the next level.
Start before you have to
Many families wait until after a fall or a hospital stay. Starting with a couple of visits a week while your loved one is doing well means they get to know their caregiver on good days, routines are already in place, and if more help is ever needed, it comes from someone they already trust.
It also gives you peace of mind now. You'll know someone is seeing them, eating with them and getting them out, even on the days you can't be there.

No. Wellness Care is non-medical help without hands-on care like bathing, dressing or toileting. If that's needed, Personal Care is the next level up, and we can change the plan as needs change.
Yes. Errands, appointments and outings are a big part of Wellness Care. The caregiver drives, stays with them the whole time, and brings them home. Admission, meal and class costs are paid by the family.
Our caregivers give friendly medication reminders and help keep the daily routine on track. They don't give medicine or provide nursing care.
Visits are at least 4 hours, with at least 8 hours a week. Many families start with two visits a week and add more when it feels right. Want more flexibility? Coming soon, clients can also book Wellness Care (Level 1) visits in the Caring Companions app from 2 hours, with no weekly minimum. App visits depend on which caregivers are free, so think of the app as one more way to get help.
That's very common. Many families introduce Wellness Care as a helper for errands, outings or the house rather than as "care." Once a good match is made, most people look forward to the visits. We're happy to talk through how to bring it up.
