Caregiver/CNA Bed-Bound Care
Apply now →Caring Companions is building a small, steady team of caregivers for a client in Springfield who needs help with personal care and transfers.
Care is needed every day, in two shifts:
Mornings, 9am to 2pm
Evenings, 4pm to 9pm
That is 7 days a week, so we are hiring several caregivers. Pick the shifts and days that work for you, mornings, evenings or some of each, and we will build a schedule the whole team can count on.
You would be helping with bathing, dressing, toileting and safe transfers, along with meals, light housekeeping and good company. We train you on safe transfer technique before you start, and experience with transfers or a CNA certification is a plus.
This is W-2 employment, not contract work. You are paid weekly, overtime is paid over 40 hours, and you complete 6 hours of paid orientation and dementia training from home before you start.
What you would be doing
- Follow the care plan and complete the care tasks assigned to you
- Provide personal care: bathing, dressing, grooming, oral hygiene, toileting and incontinence care
- Help with safe transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics and equipment such as gait belts
- Give medication reminders (not medication administration)
- Prepare meals and keep the home clean and safe, including light housekeeping and laundry
- Offer companionship and conversation
- Notice and promptly report any change in the client's condition, safety or surroundings
- Clock in and out on AxisCare and finish your notes before the end of each shift
- Hand off clearly to the next caregiver so nothing is missed between shifts
What we are looking for
- Have at least one year of paid caregiving experience, or a current CNA, CMT, LPN or RN license
- Be at least 18 years old
- Pass all required background screenings
- Have reliable transportation and a working phone
- Complete orientation, onboarding, dementia and Alzheimer's training, and annual in-service training
- Be able to stand, walk, bend and assist with transfers, and to safely lift up to 50 pounds where authorized, using proper technique and equipment such as gait belts
- Experience with transfers or a CNA certification is a plus
