Community Ambassadors

Be the neighbor who knows who to call.

Every week, families across Southwest Missouri start wondering how to keep someone they love safe and happy at home. Most of them ask a friend first. Our Community Ambassadors make sure that friend has a good answer.

Small moments, big difference

A daughter mentions her dad isn't driving anymore. A neighbor says her husband came home from rehab and she's worn out. Someone at church asks if you know anybody who can help. That's when an ambassador says, "I know a local team that's wonderful. Here's their card."

That one moment can mean a parent stays in the home they love, and a family gets to sleep at night again.

How it works

1

Apply in two minutes

Tell us a little about yourself and how you'd like to help. We read every application.

2

Get your welcome kit

Once you're approved, we email your own link and QR code, ready-to-share messages and our simple guidelines. Want cards and brochures to hand out? Just ask and we'll mail them.

3

Share when it matters

When someone you know needs help at home, share your link or a card. The family reaches out to us, and our care coordinators take it from there.

Great ambassadors are

  • Neighbors who check on the folks on their street
  • Hair stylists, shop owners and anyone people love to talk to
  • Retirees who know everyone in town

What you get

  • Your own link and QR code, so we know who sent each family our way
  • Free cards with your QR code and our brochures, mailed on request
  • Messages you can text, email or post in a tap
  • A real person at our Springfield office you can call anytime
  • The good feeling of helping a neighbor through a hard season
Our Ambassador Guidelines

Please do: share our name with people who ask or might need help · hand out our cards · use our materials and messages · mention you're a Caring Companions Ambassador when you post about us

Please don't: knock on doors or call strangers · text or email people who didn't ask · speak for us about prices, insurance, Medicaid or what care someone will receive · make your own ads with our name or logo · share anyone's health or personal information · pressure anyone

Always: let families contact us themselves · tell us if anything doesn't feel right · we can pause or end the program for anyone at any time

Questions people ask

Do I have to sell anything?

Not at all. You simply share our information when someone needs it. Our care coordinators answer questions, and families decide for themselves.

Is this a job?

No. Ambassadors are volunteers. Being an ambassador is unpaid and isn't employment. If you're looking for work, we're often hiring caregivers: see Careers.

Will you tell me if someone I referred became a client?

We keep every family's information private, so we won't share details about anyone who contacts us. We're grateful for every family you send our way.

I work in healthcare. Can I still apply?

Yes. Just tell us where you work on the application, and we'll make sure we set things up the right way for your role.
